Cardiothoracic Surgeon Walter J. Ehrman, M.D. joined the Comprehensive Cancer Center from Loma Linda (CA) International Heart Institute and Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was Director of Thoracic Surgery. He has over 20 years' professional experience and is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, with emphasis in surgery for cancer of the lung and esophagus. He was a cardiothoracic surgery fellow at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Pennsylvania State University, where he also was chief resident in general surgery. Among his academic appointments are Assistant Professor, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Co-Director of Surgery Education, Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and served his internship at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, he was recognized by his peers as being among the area's Top Doctors from survey results published by Palm Springs Life magazine.
