Dr. Hyams brings 20 years' experience to his practice of General Surgical Oncology. He is board certified and specializes in the management of breast, endocrine, soft tissue and gastrointestinal tumors. Additionally, he serves as National Director of Clinical Research for Aptium Oncology. Dr. Hyams has held full-time faculty appointments at two university medical centers and he is an invited lecturer worldwide. He joined the Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1999 after having served as executive medical officer and director of medical affairs for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York, and completed surgical oncology training at the National Cancer Institute and the City of Hope National Medical Center.
